Lockwood Academy is the coaching academy at Potters Resorts Five Lakes. It exists to give golfers in Essex the same clarity, honesty and structure that the best players in the world expect from their coach.

Our story
Why Lockwood Academy exists
Craig Lockwood founded Lockwood Academy to bring the way he coaches on the DP World Tour to golfers in Essex. At the highest level, a coach is not judged on how much they know; they are judged on whether the player gets better and whether the change lasts.
That same test shapes every lesson at Five Lakes. Strip away the noise, find the one or two things that matter, make them repeatable, and give the golfer a purposeful way to practise. It works for tour players, and it works for a golfer picking up a club for the first time.
What we stand for
The principles behind every lesson
Clarity, not clutter
Most golfers arrive with too many swing thoughts. We find the one or two changes that matter and explain them in a way you can actually use.
Changes that hold up on the course
A move that only works on a perfect range lie is not a fix. We build changes that are repeatable under pressure and adaptable to real golf.
Purposeful practice
Every lesson ends with a plan. You will know exactly what to practise, how to practise it, and how to tell whether it is working.
Coaching from the top of the game
Craig coaches on the DP World Tour and has worked with high-level players. That standard of preparation and honesty runs through every lesson at the academy.
Our home
Potters Resorts Five Lakes
The academy is based at Potters Resorts Five Lakes in Essex, between Maldon and Colchester. As a resort venue it offers a relaxed environment for coaching, with practice facilities for every part of the game, free parking and somewhere to sit and talk through your plan afterwards.
Golfers travel from Chelmsford, Colchester, Witham, Braintree, Tiptree and across Essex, and Craig also works with players nationally and internationally through his tour coaching.

The academy is based at Five Lakes between Maldon and Colchester, around 30 minutes from Chelmsford. Golfers travel to us from across Essex, including Witham, Braintree, Tiptree and the surrounding villages.
